Catch a glimpse of Soup Lady Caroline’s recipes in the time before her soup era began. (Professionally, that is, since personally this was precisely when her friend Teddy was making black beans for her and their friends.) She made this ‘zine in 2009 and taught classes from it to groups of awkward dates in Brooklyn; her editor soon found it there and wanted to turn it into her first cookbook, “Twenty-Dollar, Twenty-Minute Meals.” The rest is (tasty) history.
