If “Soup Club” was the story of how becoming a soup cook changed Caroline’s life, then “SECONDS” is how cooks around the country started using the first book to become soup cooks themselves and change their lives during the pandemic, told through short stories in their own words and photo essays from an award-winning fine art photographer, Adair Rutledge. This book was made to celebrate local community: made through a collaboration of female artists in Seattle all connected through soup, first printed in Seattle at a female owned and operated press, and first sold exclusively at the Book Larder, a female owned and operated local business. This second edition was reprinted to display its Gold Medal distinction of IPPY’s cookbook category in 2025.
